A Catholic Writers' retreat in Walsingham

during the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham

Dates: Weds 23-Sun 27 September 2026

You are warmly invited by Justin and Charlotte Harmer to their Bed & Breakfast and home at The Old Bakehouse, Walsingham, for a Catholic Writers' retreat with our resident poet and bard, Sarah de Nordwall, leading the daily creative writing classes and offering one to one tuition.

Come and enkindle your writing gifts in a prayerful atmosphere in England's Nazareth, Be encouraged by fellowship with other Catholics and Christian writers and creatives while staying in our uniquely beautiful and enchanting Bed & Breakfast opposite the Abbey Grounds, where the Holy House of Our Lady was built by Angels, according to tradition, in 1061.

During the four-day retreat, Sarah will offer optional one to one tuition and conversation to help you develop your writing, whatever stage you are at. There will also be an optional daily creative writing class for those wishing to reawaken and deepen their gifts, or you may simply use the peaceful surroundings to make progress on your own writing project.

You will be warmly welcomed by your hosts:

Justin Harmer - professional singer and musician

Charlotte Harmer - professional painter, photographer and psychotherapist

Share the joy of an enchanting Catholic and creative household, where hospitality, beauty and faith come together to nourish both the soul and the imagination

Invitation from Sarah

"Words that connect with the power of the truth have never been more needed and many of them are still inside you, waiting to be revealed. For this process, you may just need a Bard!"

Testimonials

"Sarah is attuned to inner truth and she teaches us how to reach down and find that eternal spring within."

- Noel & Lynne Schorl, Annantée, Botten USA

"I would have paid Sarah double what she charged for this experience."
