CYA Dance LAB runs ballroom and Latin dance classes for Catholic Young Adults (18-39) seasonally.

Our 10-week 2026 course runs on Monday evenings in Edgeware Road from 21st September to 23rd November.Learn the grace of the Waltz, the charm of the foxtrot and the energy of the jive.

With gender-balanced classes and limited spaces, we recommend signing up early to secure your spot and avoid the waiting list.

Our dance courses always end with a ball! So stay tuned for that!

Can I sign up to the first class as a taster session?: No. One of our aims is to foster community and this requires regular attendance.

Do I need to have basic dance skills? No. Our beginner class (6:15pm) assumes no prior dance experience.

Do I need to bring a partner?: No. Classes are designed to give you an opportunity to socialise, so no dance partner is needed.

Can I dance with the same person throughout the course?: The expectation is that students will be swapping partners because you learn more quickly that way and helps build community.

What to wear?: Smart casual clothing and comfortable shoes (we do not recommend trainers, boots or sandals which do not stay well on your feet or very high heels for your best experience).

Am I a beginner or an improver student? If you're not confident what a box-step or underarm turn is, sign up to the beginner course. Whereas if you are confident in the basic steps of Slow Waltz and want something more challenging (e.g. you have completed a CYA Dance LAB course before), please sign up to our improvers course.

Can I sign up to the beginner and improver course? No.

Can I still sign up if I can't attend every session? If you're missing only 3 sessions of the course (not more than 2 in a row) then you're welcome to sign up.
