Echoes of 1,500 Years: Gregorian Chant for Advent

Step back into the heart of Benedictine monastic tradition at St Augustine’s Abbey, Chilworth near Guildford, where a living heritage of prayer and chant has been carried forward for a millennium and a half. This Advent, the monks invite you to experience the timeless beauty of their sung worship.
The Advent Carol Service features traditional Latin Gregorian Chant performed by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey, offering a rare opportunity to hear this ancient form of prayer in its authentic monastic setting.
The service takes place on Sunday 14 December 2025 at 3.30pm. Visitors will also enjoy rare access to the monastic cloister, followed by festive refreshments shared in the Abbey’s peaceful surroundings.
There is no need to book and all are warmly welcome.
